There are also contains graphic references to childhood sexual assault (CSA) and both characters experience severe PTSD as a result of their past. Discussions about trauma are woven into both characters’ ruminations on why they became serial killers. While my area of expertise in criminology was not in serial offending, there are multiple academic sources that support the idea that trauma can play a contributing factor. This is not a textbook on serial killers, and there will be inaccuracies for the sake of fiction.
PLEASE NOTE: There is attempted SA described on page in chapter 26, and SA on page in chapter 42 for those who may need to skip those scenes. The sexual assaults are committed by a side character and the antagonist, not the MMC.
As a survivor of CSA, grooming, and sexual assault, I will absolutely warn for this content when it is present in my books for the safety of my readers.
